- For quick profits the best choice are rasberries which mature in as little as two hours gaining you some good 46 coins. Blueberries may take a little longer but the wait is surely worth it as they will ultimately make you gain 91 coins. Other good choices are strawberries which mature in four hours allowing you to gain 35 coins.
- Raising farm animals such as chickens, cows and sheep, may be fun, but ultimately, will not make you much rich. However, the advantage is that unlike crops they do not go bad and will not need much care.
- Growing trees as well will not make you rich but they will be there for you without wilting. For instance, growing cherry trees takes two days for a mere gain of 18 coins, apple trees take three days for 28 coins and lime trees take 5 days for 75 coins.
- If you are looking for making some cash, you may visit a neighbor and lend a hand by cleaning up the weeds, raking up leaves or scaring crows away. You gain some extra coins and hands on experience this way.
- Bigger fields of course, will allow you to plant more, therefore will be much more profitable. However, in order to accomplish this you need to have several friends (called neighbors). For instance you need to have at least eight neighbors to expand the farm to a 14x14 lot, or better, 10 neighbors will give you a 16x16 lot. Of course, the more neighbors, the bigger land you may own, therefore the higher the profits.
- Purchasing buildings allows you to get faster to the next level and therefore, progress in the game. However, ultimately, they will just sit there and not bring any profits.

Yes, Farmville is fun. I think I started within the first 48 hours that the game was started back earlier in the summer. I'm now level 36 and still going!
My strategy in the beginning was to plant short producing crops like blueberries and build coins and experience points. You need exp points to be able to buy new things and expand your farm. And you want to make sure you gift out to people everyday so they will gift back. Then as you run out of room you want to keep your higher producing items. Now I only keep date trees and goats as my room is limited and I want to have every plot of land possible to produce more coins and experience points. The drawback to planting/harvesting raspberries is you get 0 (zero) experience points, so you may get a little gain, but moving up levels is where it's at as far as advancing and getting zero points for any produce won't advance you.
true, but by getting more raspberries you will get to harvest every 2 hours which will make you plow more often which will ultimately make you gain the same experience plus more money :)
Let's calculate this together:
strawberries will make you gain 1 experience point for plowing, 1 experience point for planting them and then 35 coins every four hours. This gives you a total of 2 experience points and 35 coins over four hours.
Raspberries will make you gain 1 experience point for plowing, 0 experience point for planting them and then 46 coins every two hours. Now double this. With a total of 2 experience points and 92 coins over the course of four hours.
With more money you will be able to buy more equipment which in the long run will also make you gain more experience points.
So in the time frame of four hours, you do the math, raspberries ultimately is the way to go.
But, you have to figure in the cost of seeds too, and that each time a plot is plowed it costs 15 coins, right. I'm finding it complicated to determine which crops produce the most income.
Well.. purchasing seeds and plowing is part of farming, not sure how to get away with that! The plowing costs remain the same regardless of the veggie being harvested, as for the costs of the seeds the raspberries still allow to make more profit in a shorter amount of time (of course you must have lots of time on hand to take advantage of this).
I use the formula [(profit)/(time)]. (I will explain in depth below.)
Pretty obvious, but I hope it helped someone.
Also take into account how often you'll be on facebook. If a crop takes 8 hours to harvest, you have 8 hours afterwards to harvest your crop. If it takes 4 hours to harvest, you only get a 4 hour window to harvest your crop. [NOTE: This part is what I heard from my sister. I have only been playing the game for 1 day, so I have not tried it. Could I get clarification on this?]
example: Strawberries
Buy: 10
Cost of planting: 15
Sell: 35
Profit: (35-15-10)= 10
Time to harvest: 4 hours
Formula: (Profit/Time) = 10/4 = 2.5
The higher the number, the better the crop.
I'm wondering what other ways there are to make FarmBucks (whatever they're called) besides paying real money. Leveling up, sending gifts, planting new crops, are all ways, I believe. Helping friends sometimes gets a Buck too. Anyone know anything more on these Bucks?

Ive been getting about 4000 Exp points everyday lol i plant grapes which are 2 xp everyday and you make pretty good cash.
I take the cash i get everyday and spend it all on Bales of hay then i delete all the hay and then the next day i do it again. I make a crazy amount of xp ive only been playing for a month now and im lev 28. Plus i only play about an hour day. Im leveling like crazy flying past all my friends or catching up really fast.

My favorite way to get XP points is planting soybeans, then deleting them and planting more, etcetera. They only cost 15 coins and get you 2 XP. Plowing one square also costs 15 coins and gets you 1 XP, so 30 coins for 3 pts, 10 coins per XP, which is a lot cheaper than buying decorations (hay bales, for example, are 20 coins per XP). Plus sometimes when plowing you uncover coins!
Lock her in a field but using a gate or hedge. When you lock her in the computer will harvest or plant faster instead of waiting for her or him to talk across the field.
I agree with MK - planting soybeans then deleting is the best way to build XP once you have the coins to do so. The problem is the time it takes to do this vs. letting time do the work... oh and the carpal tunnel syndrome I'm now XPriencing.

Go to the Farmwville Wikia, click 'seeds' and scroll down to the table. Sort the table on 'profits per hour' if youre in for cash, or 'exp per 24 hrs' when you want to focus on XP points.
Look for the most valuable crop, and choose one that will be ready to harvest when you have free time.
If you dont have much money, you want to make sure all your squares are filled with crop. But can you afford that?
Count your squares (most likely 144) and divide your money with 144.
Say you have 10.000 coins: 10000/144 = 69. So you can purchase any crop that (including plowing) costs less than 69 coins, and still fill your entire field. Which means everything will be ready to harvest at one time.

i have more than 400 plots on farmville, and on level 35 currently. i stopped the game for awhile and started in the last week in december i gained more than 40 000xp in less than three weeks, all you have to do is try get enough ribbons and you must work out a time as to when you are going to harvest. i am planting peas currently and gain 3xp for every plot. also dont forget to fertilise and clean your neighbours farms every xp counts at the end of the day to take you to the next level

Grapes and Peas are by far the most best way to gain xp and money every havest for grapes is 270 then you have to think of the cost to plant and plow so in the end your make 170 per spot more then making on raspberrys unless you were at it all day which is ludicris. Peas make you seven more coins 177 but you need to be a way higher level. happy farming

I'm always playing my moms farmville last month because I have no facebook Im always planting grapes because it costs 270 when iam harvesting it because of that grapes my mom's level is 48 but some times i also plant grapes.But now i have my own facebook I.m playing also farmville at the level of 20 I am also planting grapes.
Go to the market, purchase the cheapest fences, and set the fences around the person. After you have set four fences down you will need to turn two of them. You can click on the fence when it is placed and turn it sideways. This effectively blocks in the person and now you can plow and plant much quicker.
Getting tips for which crops to choose is always handy for newbies, as working out the math of which crop gives the biggest profit per day is very useful. I still like some crops for their looks though!

for all plants you need to add 30 coins to how much it costs, just because it costs 30 extra coins to get the soil plowed, so for instance if you bought 30 raspberry plots, you would spend 1,500 coins and would earn 1,380 coins. If you did that, you just lost 120 coins. if you bought 30 plots of say, watermelons, you would spend 4,800 coins and would earn 10,440 coins. That's 5,640 coins of profit Hope i helped the people losing money
i love farmville and by the way farmville addict you wouldnt lose money from planting rasberries because you get 46 coins from harvesting them. you lose 20 coins for buying 1 rasberry.you lose 10 coins for planting it.and 20+10=30. then you subtract 30 from 46 which is 16 .so you are actually gaining sixteen coins... in you face
i am an addict. i think in need to go rehab because all i do is play farmvilli. i started 4 and 1/2 months ago and i am level 40 an i have 1,890,289 coins 30 farm cash. i am saving to make 2,000,000 to get a bigger piece of land. i have a 57 friends on farmville and 10 who is addicts too. DO WE REALLY NEED REHAB?
To cage in your farmer use bales of hay instead of fences you only need to use one plot that way, fences use more plots.
You can also use other objects as well. On my farm I even used the cellar to block my farmer and also use animals and a mastery sign.
